A six-member delegation from the China National Academy of Governance visited the Civil Service Commission and held discussions. During the meeting chaired by the President of the Commission, Dr. Aly Shameem, the discussions focussed on collaborations between the Civil Service Commission and the China National Academy of Governance. Furthermore, the discussions also focused on renewing the MoU signed between the Civil Service Commission and the China National Academy of Governance in May 2015.
On 16 December 2019, a special function was held at Ghiyaasudhin International School to mark 5 years of collaboration between the Civil Service Commission and the China National Academy of Governance. The event included remarks by Dr. Aly Shameem, President of Civil Service Commission as well as remarks by the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Zhang Lizhong.
In his remarks, Dr. Aly Shameem highlighted the close cordial relations that exist between the two countries and thanked the Embassy of China and CNAG for successfully planning and conducting human resource capacity building programs for the civil servants of Maldives. He noted that a total of 11 seminars and workshops have been offered by CNAG and a total of 922 civil servants have been trained with the aid of CNAG in the past 5 years.
The special function was attended by the CNAG delegation, senior officials from the Embassy of China and senior officials of the Civil Service as well as civil servants who had completed CNAG trainings in the past 5 years.
At the event, a photo exhibition organised by the civil servants who joined CNAG trainings in the past 5 years was held, followed by dance items showcasing the cultures of the two countries.
The CNAG delegation was on an official visit to the Maldives from 15 to 18 December 2019. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the outcomes of the training programmes offered by the CNAG in collaboration with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) under the MoU signed in May 2015.
